Whether you are manufacturing wet or dry pet food, both begin with initial grinding, mixing, and pre-cooking processes. First the raw ingredients, such as meat and meat byproducts, are grinded through a series of screws to help break down the meat chunks into the desired size for cooking. Next the product goes through some initial mixers and then is carefully measured into the correct portions to the cooker. The product is then heated to high temperatures to ensure food safety and oftentimes choline chloride is injected into the meat during pre-cooking for its metabolism and cellular growth benefits.
